Bloody Passion marries the cinematic with the dramatic, as the camera follows an ensemble cast of Othello on the night of their final performance. Under the threat of one cast member's broken heart, the tenuous student production begins to buckle. This piece was shot over two days in a black box theater at Playwrights Horizons Downtown. The crew was predominantly female, a fact that was important to the filmmakers given the emotionality of the piece. The inspiration for the piece came from a genuine love of Shakespeare's Othello, as well as the team's experiences working in student theater.
